Crimestoppers is an independent charity and a highly trusted name. We support members of the public in speaking up against crime by operating a 24/7 telephone number 0800 555 111 which people can ring to pass on information about crimes anonymously.
In 2005, we received a call about the fraudulent actions of a corrupt employee within a bank. An enquiry took place between the bank and the police and almost £500,000 was recovered, with the employee receiving a substantial prison sentence.
Following this event, the charity was encouraged to set up a separate ‘whistle-blowing’ service specifically aimed at organisations. Known as the Integrity Line the service is there for employees to pass on information about wrongdoing at work.
Owned and operated by Crimestoppers, the Integrity Line is a parallel service seeking information on wrongdoing inside an organisation and is available to both public and private sector organisations around the world.
Surplus generated from Integrity Line is used to fund Crimestoppers’ work. Clients include Police forces, other law enforcement agencies in the UK and overseas, charities, financial institutions and private business.
The Integrity Line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to employees of all participating companies, organisations and police forces.
Intelligence reporting lies at the heart of this operation, which is high quality and makes a significant contribution to reducing and even eliminating internal wrong-doing.
The information we generate is used by organisations at their discretion.
